Anyhow.
Since its launch in 1972, even before my birth. The Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. (As for Singapore that I'm not too sure.)
You can say that its success can be attributed to its consistently high level of fit and finish and an impressive reputation for reliability, for an economy car that is.
It is said to have impressive fuel economy, environmental awareness and engaging performance. Well, if you compare it to other brands with similar configurations, then yes. But if you compare to those that are really built to be fuel-efficiency. Then you'd have something to debate on.
Still. As time passes by, with the improvement in technology and everything. Honda has been able to increase the engine performance of the Civic while also improving fuel economy. It's all about moving with the times.
The current Civic is the best yet, till next year or the year after that is.
It is the most powerful and the most fuel-efficient, and comes in a wide range of models, from the 197-horsepower Civic Si to the Civic Hybrid. Plus, it is also the most radically designed Civic to date, inside and out.
This is just my opinion of course, for those looking for a used car, the Civic is again a smart choice, as its long production run and wide range of models make it easy to find what you want. Tested and proven of course. After all, my mum used to drive a 3rd-hand Honda Civic, and trust me, it wasn't all that bad.
The current Honda Civic, which was introduced for the 2006 model year, is available in two body styles:
